Suzuki RM250 Display: A Motorcycle Mock-up Made from Styrofoam

Last month was the end of my fourth year in Brunei and as I reviewed my projects for the past four years, I came across one of the exciting and challenging (for me) displays that I had made, the SUZUKI RM250 mock-up which was made from almost 100% closed-cell extruded polystyrene foam or thermocol, commonly know by brand name, Styrofoam.

It was not absolutely 100% Styrofoam because some support materials like wire barbecue sticks were used to make the mock-up stable since Styrofoam alone was not that firm to let the mock-up stand. This project was displayed at Hua Ho Department Store Branch of Yayasan, Brunei Darussalam on March 03 to July 12, 2008. Here are more photos:

It was few months after the display duration when I had re-visited this project at the room where it was stocked. And to give you a little proof that it was indeed made from Styrofoam, I included here the photos that I took when the mock-up was junked in the Arts Room of Hua Ho Department Store Yayasan. Carefully notice the white spots, the broken areas and the barbecue sticks that were pierced on some parts of the SUZUKI RM 250 mock-up.

Wow just wow! Great great art. Can’t believe it was made from Styrofoam. You can even resell that art for a hefty price tag!
