A Vegetable Garden Inside a Supermarket

Garden-in-Supermarket-2

Below are the photos of a garden at the Supermarket of Hua Ho Department Store Manggis in Brunei Darussalam. The vegetables were grown using the soil-less gardening method called hydroponics.

According to experts, food and water are fed directly to the roots  in hydroponics. This enables the plants to spend more energy growing the part above the surface, thus growing two times faster.

Since the vegetables were displayed without removing them from their growing media, customers can surely buy a very fresh vegetable. This display technique is also done by other stores in Brunei.

hydroponics gardening is now widely used in places were space is limited and during summertime where no plants can survive under the heat of the sun.Back in Qatar, in oe of my OFW group ,we have member who gives us seminar on this and it s so amazing how a piece of styro foam can be used as a garden tool.
