How to Make This Cost-effective Paper Props for Summer Window Display
As early as today, I would to introduce to you another way of recycling old posters into a cost-effective and beautiful paper props, for your Summer window display.
In other countries with four Seasons, the Summer starts in June if I am not mistaken but in countries with only two Seasons, wet and dry, like in most countries of Southeast Asia, sunny days starts in April and ends June.
Anyway, let us start making our props for window display. ^_^ This is a good preparation for Summer 2012.
- Old posters, as many as you can
- Cutter and scissors
- Cellotape (cellophane adhesive tape)
- Hot-melt glue (optional)
Step 1. Cut your old posters into A3 size. That is twice the size of an A4. But if your poster has already A3 size, obviously, you don’t need to cut it. ^_^
Then roll each piece to make a lot of cones like shown in the photo below. Please watch the video to see how to create the cone that I am saying.
|You need 60pcs and above of this cone to create one big flower.|
Step 2. After you have created 60 and above cones, arrange the cones on the floor, on the table or any flat surface where you find comfortable to work at. The opening should be facing upward just like the illustration below. Fasten the first layer (No.1) with glue or cellotape. On this tutorial, I used cellotape.
Repeat the process for the second, third, fourth and fifth by reducing the number of cones for each layer. Don’t forget to stick each layer and each cone.
|This is the fifth and final layer.|
Step 3. Apply your paper craft flower a color to make it nicer. You can choose whatever color you want. For better result, you can use spray paint.
I hope that you like this paper craft for Summer. Thank you for reading. Godspeed!
