Introducing, Asik-asik Falls – the Pride of Alamadians
I was surprised to see a wonderful view of a waterfall from a status of my Facebook friend because it looks like an artificial fountain fabricated from an imagination. The clusters of falls sprouting from a wall of rocks with growing green plants make up the spot which is like a haven of fairies on a fairy tale.
It triggered my attention because the caption on the photo that I have seen includes the name of the place were I was born, Alamada. Yeah, that’s right! It is in Alamada. I grew in that place but I never knew that there is such wonderful spot in that municipality. They call the falls, Asik-asik.
Alamada is one of the municipalities in North Cotabato, Philippines and it is roughly three hours and thirty five minutes continuous travel from Manila, the capital of the Country – about two hours by airplane plus one hour and thirty minutes by car. This is in Mindanao, Southern Philippines.
Here are more photos from Ivy Joy Urbano:

As far as I understand, ‘asik-asik’ is an Illonggo (one of the native language in the Philippines) word for ‘sprinkling’, especially to scatter a liquid in fine drops. ‘Asik’ is the root word which means ‘sprinkle’.
According to a report, the waterfalls was discovered just few weeks ago when the Balite tree hiding it fell down. The falls is very amazing because there is no stream above the hill where the water comes. The water is springing from the rocks.
The Asik-asik Falls is located at Sitio Dulao, Upper Dado, Alamada, North Cotabato Phipppines.
It is indeed more fun in the Philippines. It is more fun in Alamada!
Thank you for reading. Godspeed!

Hi traveltabai, here is the direction:
If your coming from Luzon or Visayas, just proceed to the bus terminal in Cotabato City when you arrive at the City, then you ride in a bus bound to Davao City and ask the conductor to drop you at Midsayap bus terminal.
But if you're coming from somewhere in Davao area, you can ride in a bus bound to Cotabato City and drop at Midsayap Bus Terminal.
At the same terminal, you can find a jeepney going to Dado, Alamada. When you arrive at Dado, Alamada, you ride on a 'habal-habal' or 'skylab' (a modified motorcycle that is able to carry more number of passengers compare from a normal one) going to Asik-asik falls. Just ask some help when you arrive at Dado.
If you need tour guide, you can connect with the local residents or the Local Government Unit of Alamada via Facebook.
