If you are a business owner, how do you think you would react to a practical joke done to you on a 1st April? A business owner, in this particular time of the year should be able to determine between a practical joke versus something offensive. Hence, the measure of how skeptic you are as a person should be in the same way you should be when it comes to your business.
Let us take for example a retail store that is open on an April Fool’s day. Would you take the number of buyers coming to your retail store as an advantage or not?
It is very obvious that the influx of buyers would be plenty of income for you, but it could be otherwise if those buyers are going to play practical jokes on you. If you decide to keep your store open, then you have to be ready if those buyers are going to play jokes on you and you should be ready to accept decrease of income if you opted to close your shop and miss all those customer’s transactions.
No matter which point of view we look at this, being ready is the key to being successful. Design your store in accordance to April Fool’s Day to attract more customers and be skeptic on which you should take as a practical joke and which transactions are serious.
In general, having this occasion is a win-win situation, as long as you as a businessman knows how much you can put at stake versus how much you really want to earn on this particular occasion.
