Which is better: CorelDraw, Photoshop or Illustrator?
I would rather say that it is not a big deal if whatever application you are going to use, it’s your skills and creativity that matter most. If I am an expert on using CorelDRAW, of course I would say that CorelDRAW is better among others. The same is true if I am an expert user of Photoshop or Illustrator.

Chinese New Year 2012 Designs and Vectors Resources for Graphic Designers
It is not new for a graphic designer to experience creativity block. Thus, different sources of ideas are very important to flare up imagination. Personally, I admit that my right brain is often squeezed especially during Chinese New Year when I need to do designs for this celebration. I need to multiple my effort during this time because of the hundreds of symbolism that are needed be well studied and understood. In fact, last year I have written about some symbolism of Chinese New Year.
This year, a nephew of my Boss shared me a link to a satisfying resources on CNY 2012. Bellow are some of the sample design from that website and the link to that site is found at the bottom of this article.

These CNY 2012 designs are also available in Photoshop (PSD), CorelDraw and other vector formats in various style ranging from realistic to cartoons. So far, while I was exploring the site, I have not seen files in eps or Illustrator (ai) formats.

Any one who is using Adobe Photoshop is not excuse to these common Photoshop problems especially when he or she only learn Photoshop by himself or herself – without going through a formal face-to-face tutorial with anybody who has higher knowledge and skill about the application.

Good for you if you have encountered any of these problems and have found the solution immediately but if you still have these unsolved problems, check the following with their corresponding solutions.
1. Scratch Disk is Full & Photoshop is Slow
You cannot save your file or perform any action because the scratch disk is full. You delete some files from you hard drive and clean your drive C but a pop-up window is keep on notifying that the Scratch Disk is Full.
Solution: Go to you Photoshop Menu > Edit > Preferences > Performance, then select and adjust the Memory Usage, Scratch Disks and History & Catch.
2. Shortcut key to Escape Type Tool
You cannot escape Type Tool without using a mouse by clicking the layer on the Layer Palette or by clicking other icons in your Workspace because when you press “Esc” key your encoded characters disappear and when you press Enter key, your cursor drop to the next line; you don’t know the shortcut key to escape from Type editing.
Solution: Use Ctrl + Enter.
3. How to Customize Shortcut Keys
You use different graphic design software like CorelDraw and you usually and mistakenly apply the shortcut keys you are using in your former design application to Photoshop; some of the shortcut keys do work but have different function. Or, it is difficult for you to memorize the items in the Photoshop Shortcut Keys table.
Solution: Go to you Photoshop Menu > Edit > Keyboard Shortcut and Menus then change the shortcut keys in your preference.
4. Photoshop Artboard is Hiding Behind the Option Bar
The top portion of your artboard was inserted behind the option bar, below the menu bar and you cannot minimize you artboard, you cannot re-size your canvass and you cannot see the file name of your document. You have no choice button close and restart your Photoshop program.
Solution: Look for the small dark grey vertical bar at the left end of the option bar and drag it to remove the artboard from hiding on it.
5. Objects are Distorted During Re-sizing
Whenever you re-size your objects, they become distorted – the circle become oblong and the square become rectangle even if you drag the object from its corner. You use the ruler yet you are not confident that your object is not perfectly proportioned.
Solution: Press the Shift key while dragging the object from its corner.
6. How to Edit Smart Objects
The easiest and best way to preserve the quality of you bitmap layer is to convert it to Smart Object but whenever you want to edit this layer, you rasterize it again.
Solution: On the layer palette, right-click the layer of your Smart Object then find the “Edit Contents” from the option. The new window will be open then you can start editing; close this window and the changes will be automatically applied on the Smart Object.
7. Applying Power Clip in Photoshop
Maybe you are a CorelDraw user and you want to apply Power Clip Function to Adobe Photoshop but you don’t know where to find the tool or what is the similar function to use.
Solution: This function is called “Clipping Mask” in Adobe Photoshop. It is located at Menu > Layer > Create Clipping Mask. Just make sure that the object that you want to insert into another object should the layer be above the latter. The default shortcut key is Alt + Ctrl + G.
